Magical Halloween Recipes

During Halloween, most ghosts & ghouls spend an arm and a leg preparing for the frightening festivities...

But wouldn’t it be a treat to spend money on what you want without getting tricked into spending cauldrons full of money? Here are some magical recipes for saving money during Halloween that even a beginner can brew up!

Creepy Couture Recipe

Buying a costume can be expensive but if you make your own, you’ll save and look just as good!

  1. Your House! You will be surprised at the amount of items you can find to make a costume. For example: A cardboard box could become a life-size domino.  Or an old sheet can become a greek toga. These are generic costume ideas but trust me, the possibilities are endless!
  2. Parents & Grandparents! Taking a peek into their closets can be a journey through time! Can you believe they use to wear some of that stuff?! If you want to dress in 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, or 80′s attire, this is the place to look!
  3. Thrift Store! You can find almost anything here and talk about cheap! This is also a great place to go if you need inspiration.
  4. Arts & Crafts! Stores like Joann’s and Michaels both sell all the necessary tools and items you’ll need to make your costume. (Glue, fabric, paint, ribbon, rope, etc.)

Trick or Treat Recipe

Even if you’re too old to trick or treat, you can still have fun passing out candy!

  1. Look For Deals! Check your local grocery store for BOGO deals, or try wholesale clubs where you’ll get discount prices when you buy in bulk.
  2. Do It Yourself! Make sure you hand out the candy instead of leaving it on the front door step for people to grab themselves. You don’t want to run out of candy 30 minutes into Halloween.
  3. Team Up! Invite your friends over, put all your money together for candy, and hand it out together!

Halloween Costume Party

Another excuse to throw an awesome party that your friends will never forget!

  1. Dress Up! Have a party where everyone dresses up in a costume. This is a great way to still dress up for Halloween, even if you feel too old to trick or treat.
  2. Split Costs! Ask your friends to chip in around 2-5 bucks, depending on how much food you want available. You can also ask friends to bake something and bring it over.
  3. Game Time! Bobbing for apples, wrap the mummy, fear factor, scavenger hunt, and carving/painting pumpkins! These are all great activities to have at your Halloween party!
  4. Turn It Up!–No party is a party without some chill music! Make sure you burn several CDs full of playlists to play throughout the night.

Morbid Movie Marathon

Want a more laid back Halloween night? Not a problem!

  1. Rent movies– Rent, borrow, or buy as many horror movies as you can find! Get a group of friends together and have a movie marathon! You’ll be screaming and jumping all night!

LET THE FESTIVITES BEGIN!
